Welcome to the Greater Kansas City Post!
Dear Greater Kansas City Post Members,
Hello members and friends of the Greater Kansas City Post! We are wrapping up the calendar year for the Post, but many of you know that does not mean that things have slowed down at all. We are proud of the events that we were able to bring our members in 2014 and are in the planning stages to make 2015 a success as well. Our first meeting of 2015 will feature a speaker that I personally love to hear present, Mr. Tony Hofmann. Also at this meeting we will conduct our Officer and Board Installation so I do hope you all can join us for that on 08 January 2015. We also have a date set for our annual Industry Day. We are excited to be able to continuously grow and improve this event for our attendees that come from across the country. Please mark 30-31 March 2015 on your calendars and join us at the Greater Kansas City Post Industry Day. Our Student Chapters at KSU and UMKC are busy right now, our Committees are actively planning events, and our BOD and Officers are working hard to make sure we provide the guidance and planning to support the Post.
As I write this, we are coming off of the National SAME Small Business Conference that was held here in Kansas City. The SBC is a Headquarters led event but for the second year, our Post had a great opportunity to showcase our membership by coordinating all of the volunteers. This is a large effort for our Post but is a very necessary part of making the SBC such a success. I was proud that our Post stepped up again this year and showed what an energetic and hard working group we are.
One last push I have as Post President is to ask you all to help us get the word out and support our Annual Sponsor program. A few years back our Post developed a program that allows firms to sign up for a number of events and advantages at the beginning of the year for a single price, providing them a discount from paying for things throughout the year. This has been an incredible help to our Post as it allows us to better plan our events. The program does that in 2 ways. It provides us input before our events about what our Sustaining Member firms want to see and participate in. It also helps fund a lot of necessary expenses that we incur during the planning, before an event takes place. This program has been wonderful for our Post and I would like to ask you all to consider this for your firm, or an interested firm you know of. Included in the Annual Sponsorship is a booth at Industry Day, with the ability to sign up for that booth space before registration is open to the public. To get in on that, we need you to sign up for your Annual Sponsorship before 13 January 2015.
Thanks to all of you for everything you give to the Post thru your time and talents. I have been working with our incoming 2015 Post President, Mr. Al Osborne, on transitioning in the recent weeks and I am confident to assure him that this Post is truly remarkable and you all make it easy to serve as your Post President. I wish you all a very blessed and safe holiday season….!
